Here is one very simple pork chop recipe that is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. These are so juicy and flavorful you just may want to add this to your weekly meal choice. I like to marinate the chops the night before cooking for a flavorful meat you will start these on the stove and finish in the oven
Ingredients:
- 4 – 1″ Thick Bone-In Pork Chops (you can use boneless the cooking time will differ, look at the bottom of the page for the cooking times)
- 4 TBSP of Butter (not margarine)
- 2 TBSP of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 TBSP of Crushed Garlic
- 1 tsp of Minced Onion Flakes
- 1 TBSP of Ground Black Pepper
- 2 tsp of Salt
- 1 tsp of Rosemary
- 2 tsp of Smoked Paprika
- Garlic Butter (2 TBSP of Butter, 2 tsp of Crushed Garlic, 1 tsp of Italian Seasoning, mix together in a bowl and set aside)
Directions:
- In a bowl combine the crushed garlic, minced onion flakes, black pepper, salt and paprika
- Pour the seasonings over the pork chops and use your hands to spread the coating evenly both the front and backs of the pork chops
- Place into the fridge covered, if marinating until ready to cook
- When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 450*
- Add your 4 TBSP of Butter and 2 TBSP of olive oil to frying pan, with the heat on high (I use a cast iron pan with grill grates)
- When the butter is melted, add your pork chops to the hot frying pan and cook for 4 minutes to sear the meat and brown it
- Flip and continue cooking for another 4 minutes to sear the other side
- Remove from pan and place into a baking dish
- Put into preheated oven and bake for 15-20 more minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted in the center half way through reads 145*
- Remove the pork chops and plate them adding 1/2 TBSP of the garlic butter mixture on top of the hot pork chops
*** For boneless pork chops 1 inch thick, sear for 2 minutes per side on high heat and remove to oven safe pan, cook for about an additional 12-18 minutes or until a thermometer inserted reads 145*
