These are absolutely delicious meatballs, the sauce brings all the flavors together I think the liquid smoke in the sauce is the key ingredient. These are perfect as an appetizer to pass or on a sub roll with some melted mozzarella cheese for a meal 🙂Â
Meatballs Ingredients:
- 3 lbs Ground Round
- 1 Can evaporated Milk
- 1 Cup Quaker Oatmeal
- 1 Sleeve Ritz Crackers Crushed
- 2 Eggs
- 3 TBS Dried Chopped Onion
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Chili Powder
Sauce Ingredients:
- 4 Cups Ketchup
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Liquid Smoke
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 3 TBS Chipped Onion
DIRECTIONS:
Meatballs
- Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs
- Shape into bite size meatballs and place on cookie sheet or tupperware container placing wax paper between layers or meatballs
- Put the meatballs into the freezer 4-6 hours or overnight
- Remove from freezer and place on a cookie sheet (keep the remaining meatballs in the freezer until ready to use
- Bake meatballs on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 1 hour
Sauce
- Combine all ingredients and mix until the sugar dissolves
- Place some sauce on bottom of the crockpot add a layer of cooked meatballs and continue until all ingredients are in the crockpot.
- Put on warm for about 2 hours or on low until bubbly about 3 hours
