These are absolutely delicious meatballs, the sauce brings all the flavors together I think the liquid smoke in the sauce is the key ingredient. These are perfect as an appetizer to pass or on a sub roll with some melted mozzarella cheese for a meal 🙂 

Meatballs Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs Ground Round
  • 1 Can evaporated Milk
  • 1 Cup Quaker Oatmeal
  • 1 Sleeve Ritz Crackers Crushed
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 TBS Dried Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Chili Powder

 

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups Ketchup
  • 2 Cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 3 TBS Chipped Onion

 

DIRECTIONS:

Meatballs
  1. Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs
  2. Shape into bite size meatballs and place on cookie sheet or tupperware container placing wax paper between layers or meatballs
  3. Put the meatballs into the freezer 4-6 hours or overnight
  4. Remove from freezer and place on a cookie sheet (keep the remaining meatballs in the freezer until ready to use
  5. Bake meatballs on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 1 hour
Sauce
  1. Combine all ingredients and mix until the sugar dissolves
  2. Place some sauce on bottom of the crockpot add a layer of cooked meatballs and continue until all ingredients are in the crockpot.
  3. Put on warm for about 2 hours or on low until bubbly about 3 hours
